I get a Dialog box from Microsoft from time to time about doing a survey for forums but I would like to share my point of view using forums for all, especially this forum.
I normally ask questions of help and don’t have lots of points and nor am I interested in amassing large numbers of points.
Everytime I ask for help the first one to give feedback is some large point amassing member who obviously thinks that the more points you have somehow makes you the self appointed forum police.
I read on other forums that large point scorers are making remarks about the quality of the question being placed on the forums for help, that question askers are not trying hard enough and expecting large amassing point scorers to write all the code for question askers.
The second last question I posted, I create a throwaway project and posted it complete, only to be asked to post all the code from a large point amassing member. I am tried of large point amassing members not reading my questions and giving me a response full of you didn’t make it easier enough for me to make more points and you have made me angry so I will go on about everything else than what your question is about and be unhelpful.
So let me give you large point amassing members some feedback on the quality of feedback us lazy question askers are getting from you.
You are so intent on getting points that you don’t read the questions just glance through question for easy pickup points to further amass your ego. As far as I can tell the more points you have the bigger a cranky old fart you are.
Feedback for Microsoft: Retire the points system and remind forum members they are not self appointed forum police. Instead of having a half baked forum system, why don’t you have a template that, question askers can fill in to improve question quality or even better, improve your namespace class code examples because lots of them are useless.
Lately, after posting a question on forums and not getting a solution I get a email from the real forum police awarding the points to members who didn’t provide a solution but was near enough, that a real winner, NOT
