I'm looking for a way to visualize a network of a million nodes and links.
Our customer extracts data, cleans it, and prepares it for analysis without visualization. However, they like to use a visualization tool called Analyst Notebook to examine their network and do some final cleaning before sending it off to our analysis suite. It's a visual sanity check they use to make sure the computer did what they told it to. They also use the visualization to examine parts of the network more closely after the analysis is done and points of interest are flagged.
The problem is that Analyst Notebook runs out of gas well before 100,000 Nodes/Links so our analysts have started scoping their projects based on its capabilities as opposed to the true size of their networks.
I'm favoiring a WPF-friendly solution because our preprocessing tool was developed in WPF. We'd love to just bind some visualization to that dataset and call it a day.
However, Beggars can't be choosers...so million node/link visualization capability is really the first priority...WPF friendly is the second.
