Which IDE should I now use to develop a .Net Web App ?

Hi

I work in IT but I only have time to learn how to program at home - when I get chance to. So far I've been learning how to program in c# using MS Visual Studio 2010/2012.

I've heard of ASP, WPF, SilverLight, Blend etc but which tool should I learn to get a .Net Web app going. I read somewhere that Microsoft might drop Silverlight for something else. I read that ASP is difficult to use when connecting it to a database on the Web. I've read in a book that it recommends using Silverlight with a combination of the Windows Communication Framework (WCF).

Then there Windows Azure which I havn't even read up on yet. The tool has to be free of charge as well for the moment as I only program at home in my spare time.

I'm confused about which tool I should use if anyone can give me some basic advice please. I feel like I'm losing touch with the different Microsoft technologies on offer to be honest.

Much Appreciated

Matt
